But the rest of the batters haven’t performed well. But good batting performance by Bangladesh, Rahim (57) gave finishing touch and they managed to post 171-4. It was an ordinary day for Sri Lanka with the ball, Karunaratne (1 for 12) was the best bowler for them.
In response, even after the early blow of Parera (1), Sri Lanka had a brilliant powerplay (54-1). But suddenly three quick wickets for just 8 runs and Sri Lanka was under pressure. But poor captaincy from Mahmudullah and two dropped catches from Liton Das cost them the game. Rajapaksa (53), Asalanka (80) help Sri Lanka beat Bangladesh by 5 wickets. Victory for Sri Lanka to start their campaign in super 12 of T20 World Cup 2021.
