Skipper Kohli and Pant help India recover from the powerplay disaster, they formed 53 runs partnership. India was gaining momentum but Shadab Khan’s googly traps pant (39). Virat once again absorbed the pressure and scored a crucial fifty (57).
Hardik and Virat tried to score quickly but couldn’t deliver. India struggled but somehow they managed to get 151-7 but it’s only a par score. Pakistan came out with a lot of fire, Shaheen (3 for 31) bowled two unplayable inswingers to dismiss Indian openers. Shadab (1 for 22), Haris (1 for 25) confirmed India won’t score big.
In response, Pakistan played wisely. The openers Babar and Rizwan gave no chance to Indian bowlers. India had no plan B, spinners lacked line and length. Chakravarthy troubled Babar and Rizwan but lack of support from other bowlers released the pressure. Indian bowlers were unable to build the pressure. Eventually, Pakistan convincingly beat India by 10 wickets with 13 balls to spare to end the losing streak in World Cups against India. Babar (68), Rizwan (79) were unbeaten towards the end.
