MI vs SRH, IPL 2021: Ishan Kishan and Surya shines but Mumbai is out of the tournament

Mumbai Indians opted to bat first, Krunal and Piyush are in for Tiwary and Jayant. Kane and Bhuvi had niggle so both miss out, Manish Pandey is the captain. Mumbai must win this game by 171+ runs or they are out. Ishan Kishan has started with the mindset of scoring quickly, he scored 84 runs off just 32 balls strike rate of 262.5.

Mumbai Indians scored 83 runs in just 6 overs. Hardik (10), Pollard (13) was promoted up in the order but failed to carry the momentum. Surya Kumar Yadav played an outstanding knock, scored 82 runs off just 40 balls strike rate of 205.

Ishan Kishan and Surya combined scored 166 runs off 72 balls, the rest of the MI batsmen scored 58 runs off 48 balls. Poor contribution from other batsmen but still MI reached 235-9. Fielding and bowling were very poor from SRH. Jason Holder took 4 wickets but went for 52 runs. MI needs to bowl out Sunrisers Hyderabad under 65 runs to qualify for playoffs.

SRH showed intent which they lacked throughout the season. The openers of SRH gave them 64 runs before Boult gets Roy (34). Eventually, SRH knocked out the defending champions within the powerplay overs.

Quick wickets of Abhishek (33), Nabi (3) Samad (2) puts SRH in a critical situation. The skipper Manish Pandey fightbacks with an unbeaten 69 runs off 41 balls but the target was so huge to chase it down. The defending champions ended their IPL 2021 campaign with a 42 runs victory.

Nothing much from the bowlers of MI, Neesham, Coulter-Nile, Bumrah gets 2 wickets each but they went for a lot of runs.

Ishan Kishan won the player of the match award for his fantastic 84 runs off 32 balls.
