IND vs ENG 2021: What went wrong

It all started with Ravi Shastri organizing a book launch. Later he tests positive for coronavirus, in fact, Ravi Shastri was the first to test positive for the virus. Then soon fielding coach R Sridhar and bowling coach Bharat Arun also tested positive.

But the suspense started after the assistant physio Yogesh Parmar also tested positive a day before the 5th test.

No secure Bio Bubble

But we cannot only blame the Indian side. There was only strict quarantine in Southampton when the Indian team landed to play World Test Championship, then there was no bio bubble. The players were free to go, the crowd with full strength was allowed. When they checked in at hotel in Leeds, they have come to know that the premises were open to common people.

After the first day’s play was postponed, people were already talking about the cancellation of the match and soon it happened. Later, the attendant revealed that “it was horrible, no one put on the masks and everyone there went to Ravi Shastri to meet him”

As per the report of Evening Standard, ECB chief Tom Harrington also attended Ravi Shastri’s Book Launch.

Result

If we talk about the result of the series, we don’t know. It’s in the hands of ECB and BCCI. The ICC will have to resolve the issue and give the WTC points appropriately. I feel sad about the Indian players they have dominated this series and if in any case the result favours England, it will be very sorrowful.
