Chennai Super Kings won the toss and choose to bowl first. Csk made one change, Bravo comes in place of Sam Curran. Srh went with the same side. The poor form of Sunrisers remains as they lost their skipper Williamson (11) and in form Jason Roy (2) under 50 runs mark. Saha (44) and Priyam Garg (7) tried to have a partnership but Chennai was too good for them. Chennai never gave a chance for Srh to make a return in this game.
Hazlewood’s 3 wickets for 24 and Dj Bravo’s 2 wickets for 17 restricted Sunrisers Hyderabad for 134-7 in 20 overs. Disappointing performance from Srh but that shows how their campaign went throughout the season.
The openers of Csk pretty much sealed the game for them as they add 75 runs before Holder gets Ruturaj (45). Holder’s 3 wickets for 27 made this game more interesting but they were just delaying the inevitable. Rayudu and Ms Dhoni’s small partnership sealed the match with Dhoni finishes off in vintage style with six.
With the victory against Srh, Chennai Super Kings become the first team to qualify for playoffs.
Josh Hazlewood gets the player of the match award for his outstanding 3 wickets for 27 runs.
