RCB vs RR, IPL 2021: Royal Challengers outclassed Royals by 7 wickets

Virat’s Bangalore is back in form as Rcb wins back-to-back games, they beat Rr by 7 wickets. Royal Challengers Bangalore elected to field first. Rcb made a change, George Garton makes his IPL debut in place of Kyle Jamieson. Rajasthan Royals also made a change, brings in Kartik Tyagi comes in place of Jaydev Unadkat.

Tonight was a big day for Rr as they wanted the momentum to qualify for the playoffs. The openers give a brilliant start to Rr of massive 77 runs but Daniel Christian breaks the partnership and gets Jaiswal (31). Evin Lewis had a magnificent night and scored fifty later the debut boy gets him (58). Bringing Chahal after 10 overs turned to be a masterpiece.

Chahal’s 4 overs 18 runs and 2 wickets build up the pressure and Rr started to lose wickets consistently, Lomror (3), Samson (19), Tewatia (2), Livingstone (6). Later, Harshal Patel’s last over 3 wickets restricted Rr for 149-9. Rr lost 8 wickets in the last 9 overs for just 49 runs, disastrous.

Rcb gained the momentum with the bowling and they were in the driving seat and they carry that in batting too. Padikkal (22) departed after giving a fairly good start for Rcb of 48 runs. Rr had hopes when Rcb lost its skipper Virat Kohli (25) in a runout. But to be honest they were already lost the match in the first inning.

Just one partnership was needed to finish the game, Maxwell and Srikar Bharat did the same. That 69 runs partnership and game was over. Maxwell’s astonishing 22 runs in an over against Morris brings up his back-to-back half-centuries. De Villiers finishes the game with boundary and seals the match for Royal Challengers with 7 wickets victory.

Nothing much from Rr bowlers except Mustafizur Rahman, 2 wickets for 20 runs.

Yuzvendra Chahal gets the player of the match award for his brilliant bowling, 2 wickets for just 18 runs.
